The largest bat in continental Africa this fruit bat is sometimes regarded as a pest. Popular culture and social media notes that this bat resembles the devil but, except for maybe carrying the Ebola virus, this bat is anything but devilish.

Males look quite different from females due to them having larger vocal chords and different vocalizations that they use. Females can be half the size of males and they look like your typical dog faced bat.

Being a fruit only eater their favorite food are figs but they also enjoy bananas and mangoes.
