Products & Materials
What scales do you offer?
We primarily work in 1:12 (one inch scale), 1:24 (half inch scale), 1:48 (quarter inch scale) and 1:87 (HO Scale) — the four most common dollhouse and diorama scales, but we can do most any size. Many items are available in all three. Check individual product listings for scale options.
Are your pieces painted or unpainted?
Both! We offer many pieces in a painted finish (aged, washed, or natural) and as raw unpainted prints for those who want to add their own colours. Painted vs unpainted options are listed as variants on product pages.
What material do you print with?
We use high-quality PLA and resin filaments depending on the piece. Resin is used for highly detailed small pieces; PLA for larger structural items. All materials are non-toxic once cured/printed.
How accurate are the sizes?
Very accurate. We design all our own files and calibrate our printers regularly. Each listing states the approximate dimensions. If you need an exact size for a specific project, feel free to reach out before ordering.
Shipping & Orders
How long does shipping take?
We typically ship within 10 business days of your order due to it being made just for you! US orders usually arrive within 5–8 business days via USPS. International orders vary by destination — typically 2–4 weeks.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes! We ship worldwide. For international orders, import duties and taxes are the buyer’s responsibility. If you’re outside the US and prefer Etsy’s checkout, you can also find us at scalegrail.etsy.com.
What if my item arrives damaged?
Please photograph the damage and contact us within 7 days of delivery. We’ll make it right with a replacement or refund. We package carefully, but occasionally things happen in transit.
Do you accept returns?
We accept returns on unmodified items within 14 days of delivery. Custom orders and painted pieces are final sale. See our full Shipping & Returns policy for details.
Custom Orders
Do you take custom orders?
Yes — custom orders are one of our favourite things. Whether you need a specific animal, a particular scale, a custom paint job, or a bulk order for an event, reach out via our Custom Orders page and we’ll discuss what’s possible.
Can I request a specific colour or paint style?
Absolutely. When placing a custom order, just describe what you’re after. We can match reference images, paint in specific colour schemes, or create aged/weathered effects.
Can you print in bulk for events or retail?
Yes. We’ve fulfilled bulk orders for craft events, retail boutiques, and prop houses. Contact us with quantities and we’ll provide a quote and timeline.
